How do you make wav files smaller? Also looking for code editor for game moding.?

Question

I want to compress some wav files very small. The wav files I have are 10-15mbs mp3 files are 4mbs. I do not need an mp3 converter because I need the files in wav format. I want to use it in a game mod, but the mod only reads wav format. The only way to read mp3 format in the mod is with code editing. I dont have CE skills. I have allot of other skills, but I have not learned CE yet. If any one has an answer to do this with out converting, please tell me. If anyone knows CE. Leave and answer too as well :) Thank you.

you cant compress mp3 files, but you can change quality of mp3 files , i mean if your mp3 working at bitrate 320kbps you can decrease it about 192kbps , and you can decrease audio sample rate too, you can do that kind of thing with using mp3 editor softwares , i suggest you Sound Forge

1) Compress it to mp3, ogg, aac, or some other format. You want compression, this is how you get it. No buts. No ifs. That's right. WAV files are huge. Compressing means you transfer to another format.

2) Edit the WAV file and cut out portions of it. Don't want to do that? Well, your WAV file isn't going to get any smaller.
