...yes, I have, and I agree that it IS a very odd film!!!
This seems to always be the case, regarding director Oliver Stone's 'little' films; he'll do a high profile film, that appeals to general audiences, like "Platoon" (1986), "Wall Street" (1987) and "Any Given Sunday" (1999). Then, he'll do a smaller, lesser-profile film, appealing to a more eclectic audience. "Natural Born Killers" (1994) was a great example of this; however, the only reason why this film went from low profile to high, is mainly because of it's controversial subject matter, and the word-of-mouth & media coverage it received.
If you enjoyed (or at least found intriguing) the off-key, albeit 'strange & disturbing' subtulties of "U-Turn", you might want to give Stone's "Talk Radio" (1998) a try; though a very compelling film, it's waaaay out there, too!!!
