YES! I was in 3rd grade. It was in the early '70s. They told me that one day there would be more snow and ice and that the ice on Pike's Peak would not melt and the water would not come down the mountain and we would have a drought!!! What alarmists.

you quite do might want to snort on the nonsense that comes from deniers they don't even study the hyperlinks they provide, that educate their very personal comments incorrect. The link offered by snowbound is a applicable get jointly Dr Viner states on the best of the tale "Heavy snow will go back in certain situations, says Dr Viner, yet even as it does we will be unprepared. "we are quite going to get stuck out. Snow will probable reason chaos in two decades time," Deniers yap about hoaxes consistently yet won't be able to even back their very personal statements with genuine information. Snow falls in temperate and tropical areas are properly down for this reason maximum mountain glaciers are taking flight. even as i turned right into a baby ~40 years in the past we used to get customary snow on the Mountain over our city, it really is now an exceedingly uncommon prevalence. Australian snow fields were under no circumstances tremendous (by eu criteria) yet they actually have declined, to some quantity that has been slowed by using snow machines which upload a small quantity of chemical to the water to make it style snow at a truly larger temp. As with a lot of those so observed as deniers factors they take predictions and estimates of issues that are suggested to ensue in numerous years or the middle of the century and pretend they are incorrect because they have not occurred 5-10 years because the statements were made, fully infantile and entirely clear, like an nerve-racking baby consistently asking are we there yet!

Have you heard of the boy who cried wolf?
First time, it was a lie, and second time, lo and behold, it was the truth.
Just as a fact, Venus' atmosphere is 96% carbon dioxide. It only receives 25% of the solar energy that Mars, which is much closer to the Sun, receives. Its temperature is 500 degrees centigrade, compared with Mars' highest of 426. There is no proof of anything that could cool the Earth at this stage and the oceans will do nothing but heat it up. Metals melt at 500C. We're already complaining at 40.

I did hear about it, and just like "global warming" it is a bunch of ridiculous nonsense. I don't know why people need so much proof for certain things that are undoubtedly real or true and then just eat up silly theories like they would die to defend it. The thing about global climate theories, is that they are only theories because there is no model to base the unique Earth off of. I also think it's just another one of many of the gov'ts and businesses way of generating revenue for themselves. There is nothing we can do about continental drift, or volcanoes or a million other things that can and likely do contribute to global climate changes, plain and simple. The fact that we pay for expensive yet unproven, insignificant, and unjustifiable solutions just goes to show how dumb we all really are. We should be using alternatives to oil anyway and we shouldn't be polluting the living hell out of the planet either, but the US is definately going about it all the wrong way, what else is new?

Global cooling was also shown as a potential horror by anti nuclear activists. The term used was "Nuclear Winter" where after a nuclear war, dust would blot out the sun and and cause it to be much cooler. It was and remains a tactic for activists to use questionable science to frighten uninformed and non-scientific people into rash decisions.
