Ask Nike Shoes...I personally believe their trademark is illegitamate. I want to trademark Jesus Sandals in that case.
There is a gorgeous (yes, she has a elogated neck) statue of Athena right in front of City Hall here in San Francisco. She is also on the state seal of California, which is saluted.
Many neo-pagans and modern wiccans worship a greater pantheon including norse, germannic, britannic, irish, greek, babylonian, and egyptian gods, as well as occasionally those of the Hindus, and even Mary and Jesus.
I personally believe they are important as personifications, especially in philosophy and poetry. I believe they may have actually originated from actual leaders in ancient pre-history, although not all of them. Perhaps they are congomerations of several leaders along with aspects they represent or even a titulary position like the Lady of the Lake.
But it is important to note that while they may be ideal for narrow and specific desires and prayers, magics, etc. They have just as much strife as we do, incest, rape, patronizing, jealousy, spiteful, vengeful, cruel and manipulative. You should ask if these are dieties you truly wish to envoke.
As a female, Athena, Artemis, Vesta, Ceres, Persephone, and even Hera, might be good choices, I wonder about Aphrodite. Athena and Artemis, are quite the punishers when it comes to business, and destroy those who insult them.
The Gods weren't as nice, if ever, Zeus, Posiedon, Hades, all reknowned for rapes and wicked deeds. Ares was quite the cry baby. And Apollo was gay?ish?
But anyway, I am a huge mythology fan, and I personally am not a fan of the term. I feel you either say it's all religious beliefs or you say "The Genesis Myth". Which of course it is.
The Greek Myths are just as insightful into humanity as the Christian, Jewish or Muslim ones. In fact, the whole Jesus is the Son of God came from the Romans...Ceasar, Hercules, Perseus,...It wasn't a Christian idea until then! Son of God doesn't mean what Christians think it does...It would have actually of been of more importance that he claimed the Son of Man. Adam was the Son of God, The Son of Man would have been a modern egalitarian seeker of higher justice, an evolution in humankind, perhaps. But whatever, most Christians can't recite the Beatitudes either.
But personally I believe, either it's all true or it's all lies. But eitherway it's powerful, interesting, and more insightful than science and cold reason.

For the identical motive no person will feel in Christianity or Islam sooner or later. All Gods finally evolve into more recent Gods. Look at how Judaism branched off and advanced into Christianity. The Christianity of in these days is night time and day exclusive from 2000 years in the past. The difference is gradual, however consistent, so definitely it has to difference vastly over lengthy intervals of time. Just like organic evolution, not anything alterations immediately into some thing new, as a substitute it stages into the following. Believers are too biased in their fable to peer this blatant reality of historical past.

No, I believe they still exist dont we breathe life into things when every we speak about it. But what do i know im pagan I just believe they exist. But the way i explain it to people who dont have such an opened mind is that back in the times that they existed they were probably unbelievable smart. See they say we only use what 2-3 percent of our brain and Einstein Used just a percent more and look at what he accomplished what if these great ones back then used 10 percent that would unlock great things in their mind even powers persay .
