I am trying to breed my female 4-5 year old poodle with another male poodle which is 17 weeks old. She is on heat and she is at the right stage to breed. But she won't let the male poodle breed with her, she lets the Mutt dog down the street do it to her, but she won't let him. She is really aggressive towards the poodle and just won't let him. Is this because he is to young, or is it because she is away from home??(she is at the male's house). I just don't understand why she wouldn't let him, but she will let the Mutt down the road. (The Mutt is de-sexed).
Can someone help please!!!!

I don't believe a male dog of 17 week's age is mature enough to breed. Your female seems to have the dog sense to know that. If I were you, I would find an older suitable male. Good luck.

The male is much too young for one and female dogs can be very picky who they will let mate with them. Sometimes you have to keep trying or use a different male. But really the male is much too young.

I don't know about dog breeding, but I'm just here to warn you that you will get many angry responses letting you know how irresponsible you are and that you should not help with the overbreeding population because there are thousands of dogs euthanized everyday due to your actions. I suggest you really do listen to them.

People in Polls don't give expert answers, they are into cute or innuendo.
Try your question again in pets.

Too young!!! Your pups have a doggy pecking order. A little baby has no place porking the queen. Give it time.

Excuse my vulgarity, please.
