I would try to figure out where this was coming from. The fix may be as easy as finding a bra that fits her more comfortably. It may be as simple as she hates the bras she has and would wear new ones if you took her to the mall and allowed her to pick the ones she likes. In any case getting her to be specific about what it is about bras that repels her will guide you in how to overcome her reluctance to wear one. I'm a guy so take these suggestions with that in mind. I'm trying to imagine my own daughter... I'd love to say I simply wouldn't let her out of the house without a bra but that attitude simply encourages a 13 year old to remove the bra in rebellion as soon as she's out of sight. Girls (and boys) that age are notoriously self-conscious so I would try to find a way to convince her that going without a bra is disgusting, repulsive, unattractive, etc. Kids that age are intelligent and intuitive enough to need to know, understand, and respect the why behind the rule before they will follow it.

I think it's important for a 13 y/o to wear a bra. Talk to her about the long term effects of sagging, back and chest pain she might have if she doesn't. Find out if she really doesn't want to wear one because she thinks it will make her more sexy for guys to look at, that would only make guys think she's sexually easy. Maybe suggest something more appealing, like a Victoria Secret bra.

it might be time to take her to the big girl doctor, not for an exam, just to talk to them about how her body is changing and how it is so very important to love and respect herself.
most of her friends probably aren't as developed as she is and it may make her feel uncomfortable that she has these new "things" and her friends don't understand yet. anyway, appeal to her vanity. take her and get her some cute but, supportive bras and tell her how nice her clothes fit her at least once a day. i hope this helps.

I am with you on this one. I have disagreements with my 11 year old daughter about what is appropriate to wear out and what isn't. I know they are young, but they often don't think about what kinds of labels other kids attach to them at this young age...and those labels end up being carried by the child many years. And unfortunately, some of those labels cause the kids to make terrible decisions later in life as well. I am a mother of three children and I believe my children should conduct themselves as if they are in a job situation when they go to school. Best to prepare them for the future now. I wish you luck as you face the disagreements with your daughter, but know that later in life she will appreciate your guidance. And I'm guessing that if you spoke to the mothers of her friends, you'd find that some of them are not aware of how their daughters are conducting themselves. Feel free to email me any time if you feel you need another mother in your corner.

in my opinion, i think of i could compromise together with her a touch. in case you experience she desires to placed on a bra, permit her %. the kind. She might discover some thing else extra delicate than what she's tried and says sucks. i think of a 13 365 days previous is sufficiently previous to comprehend what they like and make judgements approximately what they placed on if it somewhat is lifestyles like. perhaps require her to placed on some sort of bra out in public, yet permit her bypass with out on a similar time as at living house. i could say a touch leeway is effective in this one.

Just sit her down calmly and tell her how you feel about it. Honesty is the best policy. Tell her about the effects of not wearing a bra. (sagging etc.)
