I know it's different for each baby, depending on size, etc., but I'm trying to buy most of the diapers we'll need ahead of time, but don't remember how long our daughter wore newborn size. TIA~

To answer why we are stocking up-
We're buying ahead of time because we live 30 miles from the store- I'm not about to take my newborn out to get diapers, when I knew ahead of time we'd need them...
Also, we have a large basement, with room to store extras... also the online places, even with free shipping (IF you spend over $50!!), cost more than store brands- our daughter has never had a leak from the store brands, we're hoping that works with our son, too.

Wow- it's worse than I thought, I checked those links, it's $26.85 on one site, plus shipping, for a case of 84!! I can buy a case of over 100 for $14 at Target.

I had a large baby so she didn't wear them for very long at all. I can't remember how long it took, but she was in a "size 1" soon after coming home from the hospital.
How ever many packages of NB diapers you decide to buy, keep them sealed and hold on to your receipts. You can always exchange them for a larger size if you need to. Good luck!

Don't stock up on too many newborn sizes - its better to stock up on the size ones. My middle son was almost 10 pounds at birth, and was too big for the newborn sized ones! My other two were large as well (close to 9 pounds) and they maybe wore then for 2-3 weeks tops. They outgrow them so fast, and I was stuck with a million unused newborn diapers.
Also - if you have a boy - I found with my two boys, it was better to have them in a larger sized diaper - otherwise they were continually peeing through the diapers. If they wore a bigger sized diaper, it was much less. And if you're worried about the umbilical cord, you can always fold down a diaper so its not rubbing against it.
Hope this helps!!

Well, my son was never able to fit into newborn diapers! He was 10 lbs 6 oz at birth and now, at 7 weeks, he is 14 lbs and wears size 2 diapers... We ended up giving away a bunch of size ones because he grew out of them.. I recommend buying some newborn, and one size 1 because you can use them eventually!

About 6 weeks or so roughly. In hospital though thtey put them in size 1, and there isn't too much of a differance in size. Your almost better off buying a couple bags of newborn if you want to and buying way more size 1

My son was out of newborn diapers before he left the hospital. He was 9 lbs. 7 oz. when he was born, and went up and over the 100th percentile from there.

For 2 month. Why are you buying ahead of time? We bought only one pack of diapers before the baby was born and went from there on. You will be given diapers at the hospital, free samples,+ you can take a bunch of diapers home from the hospital . These will last you until you know what diapers you need and how many you need. From there on you can buy online from places like
http://www.diapers-on-line.com
http://www.1800diapers.com
http://www.gdiapers.com/online organic and environmentally friendly diapers.
http://www.diapersite.com
http://www.amazon.com
You don’t have to pay tax and most of them have free shipping. They arrive within 2-4 days and you don’t have to worry about anything.
We have to buy brand diapers because my daughter has a sensitive tushy. Store brands give her a diaper rash and she breaks out in tiny red spots. For us it’s cheaper to buy online.
Last time I bought diapers I paid $34.79( including tax and shipping which was $0 for both and a $5 off coupon) for 216 Pampers Saddlers diapers (they are expensive). If you buy 100 Target brand for $14 to get 216 you will have to pay $30 +tax and cost of fuel and your time. Factor all of that in it’s cheaper to buy online. You can always find deals and coupons by Googling for them. That’s how I got the $5 off.
