i really like this question.
Circle is a very important symbol.
it denotes life, true love, karma and limitations.
wherever you stand at whatever point on the circle...life is someday going to repeat...you will have to come to the point from you have started with. Your good deeds as well as the bad deeds are going to shower their effects back to you...and at all the people who stand with you. circle denotes boundaries which encompasses the things, emotions, values, principles,if any of these go out of the circle...they turn negative or violent.
and...if circle is looked at in the lighter side(leaving philosophical side behind) when moon is full...its a circle and its the most beautiful form of the moon. a bubble is in a form of circle. Sun is a form of a circle. A ring is in a circle etc etc...
Circle is beautiful. It is complete. without a zero...there is no value of the number system.
and in geometry...circles are easier to draw.

to me it represents a lot of things
:)

I have a tendency to first strike out what I perceive as negatives. To me, it does NOT represent the cycle of "life," or any emotions therein, & if anything, it is the antithesis of "finite" or "boundaries." (I'm intrigued by the lack of words available to express the generally "taboo" in cultures.) I am a very visual person, & perhaps I can do better this way: I see, rather than an "ellipsis," (a closed symmetrical curve resembling a flattened circle), a sphere of interconnected "circles," expanding infinitely, & in constant motion. While I "feel" the circle, & what is to me, (harmony) I wouldn't dream of confining it to any concepts, or filling it with human observations. I could so much better express this "circle within circles" by making circular motions with my hands & arms, forward, sideways, diagonal, & so on. Perhaps the bottom line, is that the circle doesn't represent
intellectual thought--& there are no words. LINEAR can easily be described! Since that's the way most people think....?

Edit: I wish I knew how to delete my answer. It was so ambiguous even I can't make sense of it!

THE CIRCLE
The circle is the symbol of love. It signifies all rounded forms, including the semi-circular and loop variations. Round objects satisfy and soothe. Fruits, the wheel, planets and their courses are all circular or elliptical.
There are two aspects of love. The first includes pleasurable feelings like playfulness, companionship, affection and devotion, acceptance and compassion. The other aspect is negative and induces self-indulgence, resentment, jealousy, envy, possessiveness and greed. Playfulness can be replaced by manipulation, threats and other corrupt practices.

A circular handwriting indicates the need for relating to people as a basis for living. The motivation is to share feelings, togetherness and playfulness.
A predominantly circular form in our handwriting reveals a person who shuns violence and arguments and would rather play than fight. When this natural instinct is unfulfilled or distorted, it leads to hatred, sorrow, sadism, narcissism and other negative reactions. The rounded form is comparable to the nature of water.
when i hear the word circle i could just think in terms of handwriting!

a time warp in which we are all stuck and can't change who we are or what we are where we can only further ourselves so we progress through the circle fast and maybe if we can warp time fast enough we can brake the chain and be free and maybe then we can we Exactly who we want to be with out pressure from others. Too out side the box? Sorry is how my mind works

The energy of life goes in a circle, in a perfect flow and balance. Until you find your center, your circle will never be whole. - from the movie "The One"

infinity within a limit of boundaries.
and we have no choice but to keep on circumnavigating it uselessly either on the concave side or the convex. No matter how much we want to stop we are being glided to go on and on.
Meanwhile comparing to other shapes like fair square, trapezoid, hexagon etc., we actually have an option to stop at different sides, faces, or vertices and think it over which angle do we want to continue on.
