"Make no bones about it, they want to force the conservative media to hand over air time to liberals," Kincaid said in an interview. "When federal bureaucrats dictate the content of radio and TV shows, it's muzzling to tell them what to say and how to say it."

No secret that liberals don't actually love "free speech" when it isn't going their way. Check out any controversial conservative trying to give a lecture at a college campus and you'll see what I mean. Liberals hate that. Of course, I think Limbaugh and the rest need to be reigned in a little because they are selling people a twisted bill of goods. Too bad Lewis Black and Dennis Miller don't do a show together. That would be awesome.

I don't agree with this Fairness Doctrine, because I think it's the government meddling with our free speech.

However, protesters of this administration have also had state, local and federal government dictate where they can protest and how many people they can have in their protest which I think is also unfair.

It also seems to me that the Fairness Doctrine is a form of fascism and if you think Bush and the neocons are fascist, which a strong argument can be made that they are, then you don't fight fascism with more fascism.

When the fascist minded try to silence you the response must be more noise, not trying to silence them.

The Fairness Doctrine has been around for at least 50 years. Reagan killed it in the late 80's. What the fairness doctrine states, is that you can't have a single point of view. You must give balance to any broadcast. This is true of Liberal talk shows as well, so I don't know how this is muzzling conservatives. The reasoning behind the fairness doctrine is that radio waves are publicly owned, but the content is put out by private corporations. By killing the FD, corporations can form public opinion by eliminating dissenting views. By balancing the opinion, we come away with a better educated populous. A good example of bias is FOX news. There have been several independent studies that show the more one views FOX news, the worse informed the viewership is about the facts of a given political issue.

It is all part of a plan, one that has been followed by them for over 40 years, see the link below and prove to me that this is not an almost exact copy of what the socialists/dems have been doing.

Freedom of Speech - this bill, pc speech, hate crime legislation
Right to Bear Arms - too many examples to list
4th amendment - government takings of private property.

Armageddon is coming people, and its name is SOCIALISM/DEMOCRATS

Its wrong to silence anyone especially when its a company making money legally in a capitalistic society. I think talk radio should let it be known that they do not report the news and are in no way truthfull unless they want to be. I used to listen to Rush everyday at work andf i'd argue everything he said with the yokels i worked with, it was so sad that no matter what they were in agreeance with Rush. Fact is these were all rural people with limited education so air america would not appeal to them, unfortunatley i can't listen to air america because i got a promotion while those bible thumpers are still doing the same job at 40 while i'm 24.

They just don't seem to understand that folks don't want to listen to their bogus, elitist, B.S. and are generally more enlightened by what conservative radio has to offer. NOTE to liberals: hatred, mudslinging, and manufactuing "news" stories DO NOT give people the warm fuzzies. Our ratings are considerably higher for a reason.

It's not so much them trying to stop Conservative free speech, that hardly surprises me, since they are so socialist-leaning these days.

It is that they turn around and criticize the President for the anti-terrorism measures as being "un-Constitutional."

I can handle them being consistent with their socialism, it reveals who they are to Americans. But their hypocrisy about the Constitution makes me really angry.

Because they want fairness to apply only to them. Unfair is it not? We need to get organized and oppose it to the fullest. Get the word out. Everyone shout it out that The Fairness Doctrine is Bullying tool and a contradiction of the word Fair. Enough is enough. These Libs do not speak for 75 percent of us and it needs to be known NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! How dare they try to shut out free speech of Conservatives who speak honestly and are supposed to be Free Speaking AMericans. How dare they think that! Libs are going past the point of insanity and into delirium. God Bless and keep this out for all to see and be horrified by as we are. This is America still right? Not a communist country Libs want to turn it into?

I find it odd that someone is here complaining about doing to reactionary fools what they would gladly do to democrats and independents in the US.

If it seems unfair to you, just remember the ball is in your court.

Cut the crap with the us-vs-them mindset and prove you're something other than the schoolyard bully and perhaps there might be some middle ground to meet on.

We're all Americans at this table. The rude ones are shunted off to dine with the children until they prove otherwise.

it's not news and its not a real debate of issues. it is simply a twisted way to manipulate an audience. If you start with a small fact and add lies to it, it can be very convincing. If you pretend to be fair and attack minorities, you are promoting hate.

I enjoy a different viewpoint and the debate it causes, but these people are not about reality or inclusion...they are separating us into waring factions....the Liberal pundits aren't a good thing, but they came after Limbaugh and O'Reilly as a counter to them....but the best thing to do is force broadcasting companies to cut the spin and put the facts forward in order to keep their "public license". People have forgotten that the real news is rather boring really. If the O'Reilly's of the US were to at least promote that they are not news agencies and are political proponents of a particular party, at least the less smart people could recognize that what they are hearing isn't anything like factual news
