our family lives on thirteen hundred dollars a month so that we can do everything we want and together....fortunately for us, the things we enjoy are free, we do not believe in land ownership, so, we will not fall into that trap, we do not waste money on a car so that we will have more crap to do that is not what we want to be doing etc..... life is good

Whether you believe in Science, or Religion, they both preach 'infinite beings' and that Your energy never ceases to exist. So in short, yes, there's plenty of time to live. But what is living? It's certainly not 'working', that's just a responsibility, like bathing. Native American's didn't 'punch in or out', were they stressed like todays worker? They certainly didn't live check by check. Is the American dream ~Owning~ Your Own Home?....or paying off a 30 year Mortgage? Is 30 years of paying, worth the 'Golden Years' when it hurts to move, to enjoy it? Ancient civilizations knew how to 'make a living', somewhere along the line, suits and ties turned it into 'earning Federal Reserve Notes'....which if you research the Federal Reserve, our paper money is an illusion anyway....not even close to being backed in enough gold. Probably explains why Fort Knox hasn't been audited since the Eisenhower Administration...but I digress...

It's also apparent to me, that too many people think "as soon I get _______I will be happy". If you spend your life working towards _______, you could let being happy in the moment, pass you by.

In my opinion :-)

I find that the solution to this problem is to choose a career you love. That way, living and making a living will be the same thing. There seems to me to be no way to live a happy, fulfilling life if you spend 40+ hours a week (or almost half your waking hours, five days out of seven) doing something you don't like. If you're going to spend that much time doing something, it had better be something you care about.

I'm only a teen and already I'm making a living. not living for myself..... I have college classes, highschool and part time job I do NHS and do community service Its not even that I make a killing in money but more I spend my time getting ready to make a killing for now I'll kill myself making a living for my self and when my school is over and all I have is my career then I shall have the time for living my life and going to all those concerts and movies I miss til' then Live or Let Die.

I believe we have all got time to live and time to make a living. One without the other is an obsessive behaviour and can not exist in a healthy mind. I have consciously tried to find time for my career, family, profession, society, intellectual and spiritual pursuits. Not always equal time, but with equal importance. You have time for everything and once you achieve some balance, other aspects give relief when you are strained in one:you will find life richer in every respect!
