Do Christians ruin abortions? Well, I hope some of them. Meaning that I hope that somewhere there is a woman who is counseling another woman who may be pregnant about what abortion really is. That it's a major invasive medical procedure that has many risks and could lead to death of the mother and that the baby growing in the mom is not a "product of conception", it's a growing human being.
Stem cell research? Stem cell research is relatively new. The only thing that Christians oppose is using the stem cells from aborted babies.

Not all Christians are against stem cell research, and abortions. I can't wait to read the answers you're going to get.
Interesting...everybody has an opinion on these subjects...

As with any religion it's the fundamentalists that cause the problems. I know of plenty of people that call themselves Christians that are fully for stem cell research, evolution etc and support the womans right to choose in most circumstances. Unfortunately these moderates, the silent majority, don't scream abuse at anyone who disagrees with them, don't get themselves voted onto school boards to change the curriculum to preach fairy tales about the origins of man, and preach xenophobic lunacy via 'Christian' TV - so we are left with the impression that all Christians are flat-earth nut jobs - when they are not.
As for the fundamentalists / creationists etc, quite how any reasonably intelligent person can believe that the Earth is only 6000 years old and that there were two of every species of animal on Noah's Ark (including 2 of every type of Dinosaur, by the way - yes, in their world the dinosaurs were around at the same time as humans despite glaring proof in the fossil record to the contrary) is utterly, utterly astonishing.
The mental denial, not to say Orwellian 'doublethink', required to reach and accept the conclusions Christian fundamentalists have come to about the world, the Bible, history, origin of man etc would be laughable if it did not have the side effect of rendering them vulnerable to manipulation by a politician pretending to share their beliefs (I do not believe for one second that George Bush is sincere in his Christian 'beliefs'.
I could go on all day.

You are one angry Canadian tonight! Neither of those have been ruined up North yet. The worse that will happen to those in the states is that each individual state will have its own rules. Its what we did with drinking, for the most part. MADD threw a monkey wrench in federalisim on the drinking age issue.

On most occasions, yes. But they as well as you only do what you think is right. The organizations you refer to intentionally ignore the rights of the individuals and look only at their own personal desires. We have the constitiution which is the basis of the country and is written to protect the rights of the individual. In the end though, they will prevail, they are chipping away at it a grain at a time. And the time will come when US citizens will have no rights and no means to express the individuals displeasure with the state things are in. And then it will be the Christians who will be caught up in the web.

Unfortunately, those who are insecure about their Faith certainly taint the whole picture of us Christians.
*It's too bad that your experiences have caused you to have a rather jaded view of Christians.
*I was certainly fortunate to find a really cool place to worship (and I really SEARCHED for a place for quite awhile, too).
*I really believe that once we, as a people can stop giving hateful people (of and without Faith), the power to control public policy, the sooner we can ALL do what's in the best interests of humanity.
Hope this helps.

Drooling moron. Asian societies put an asian face on Jesus. That's OK. Black churches put a black face on Jesus. THat's OK. WHite churches put a white face on Jesus. That's OK. The fact is, he was a Semitic Jewish man, so NONE OF THE ABOVE is correct. Why do you care so much about such absurdly irrelevant things?

Why are you so predigest?
I'm Christian and I believe that abortion is wrong. You are killing another one's life, you know.
As for stem cell research, I need to see more research on the subject before I make up my mind.

Well, if you're asking if most christians still have good ethics, then I'd have to say yes! Go visit www.abortiontv.com and see if you think abortion is still a good idea....
