i own a shop and id start out by checking all the air in the tires and making sure i had a fresh oil change and check all the filters also make sure the spare tire has air in it,and you have all the stuff necessary to change a flat with,if needed, also check all the fluids in it and always carry a spare gallon of anti freeze with you on a trip it doesn't hurt to have it and not need it,and the rest of it is just common sense stuff, anything you think you might need, take it along with you ,if you don't use or need it that's fine also but id take anything i thought i might need, that's a long trip and a lot can happen from one place to the other, good luck hope you have a good trip.

You know your car the best and the things that make it special"those rattles and creaks and odd things" that never caused you problems round home.
Maybe it is time to look at those.
Other than that....check everything that wears(mind you at only 2 years old you SHOULD have little to worry about.(talking from experiencing buying a car body/frame thursday and throwing a 4 cylinder motor in friday, and driving 500 miles Saturday and 500 Sunday onto the Alaska highway(without even a test run first after tossing the motor in) on a vehicle aged 30 years with over 130,000 miles on it.
Things to look at..tires-condition and pressure and a spare and a working jack and wheel wrench, fluid levels, carry extra fluid, eyeball the battery condition(corrosion on the posts?? and water level is correct) Head and tail and signal lights all working?? extra spark plugs and fan belt.
You should be good to go. Like I said, 2 years ain't nothing on the car.

Check all fluids in the engine and transmission. Check the air in the tires and the condition of the tread. Clean the windshield inside and out, wash the headlights and taillights too. Change the oil and filter, check the air filter and replace it if dirty.

Finally, just give everything the once over. look under the hood and see if you notice anything unusual like leaking fluids from the radiator, or AC not working right or heater not working. Have a nice trip.

first of all have the tires checked and make sure they are inflated properly. with the price of gas these days, low tires can really make a dent in your fuel bill, not to mention increasing the risk of blowouts. otherwise, change the oil if it is close to being due, check all other fluid levels, you should be good to go. a car this new shouldn't need belts and hoses changed, but look at them anyway
