Sometimes I see people use this acronym in some mailing lists and forums that I read. I can't seem to figure out what "plw" stands for. It's probably incredibly simple, but I'm stumped.

Yeah, it is pretty simple. It means "Permutation with Limited Wavelengths". It could also mean Palau (ISO Country code), Palu, Indonesia - Mutiara (Airport Code), or Power League Wrestling.

PLW means different things to different people.
Physical Language Workshop.

Pura Locura Wrestling.
Parkland LIght and Water.
That being the case, ask the person what they mean by PLW. That's what I would do.
