What would this world be like if there really psychic abillty?

It has been argued that if psychic power existed, to use it would be "a gross and unethical violation of privacy" and "professions that involve deception would be worthless" There wouldn't be any need for undercover work or spies. Every child molester would be identified immediately. No double agent could ever get away with it. Psychics would be in demand for high paying jobs in banks, businesses and government. Most psychics would be very, very rich.... and since psychics are such altruistic persons, giving up their time to help others talk to the deceased or figure out what to do with their lives, they would be winning lotteries right and left and giving part of their winnings to help the needy. We wouldn't need trials of accused persons: psychics could tell us who is guilty and who is not. The polygraph would be a thing of the past. Of course, the operative word here is if. If psychic power existed the world would be very different.

No one has ever shown, under proper observing conditions, evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power or event.

If they could it would be one of the greatest event's in human history. right up there with landing on the moon.

If you can a million dollars is waiting for you or a charity.

LOL! Wouldn't it be nice if psychics could be licensed? Nobody can measure how psychic someone is yet -- if they get stuff wrong, they have so much to blame it on. The client was skeptical, the stars are out of whack, the cards need cleansed, etc. etc. etc. But some cities require that psychics who charge money be registered and have a license to practice.

As for the second half, what constitutes a real job? I believe that a really good psychic acts more like a therapist than a fortune-teller, and in that way, s/he can be very helpful.

But there are a lot of scammer psychics out there who milk the gullible for all they are worth.

You can make money at it, because the gullible are willing to pay anything for guidance. But if you get things wrong, they'll be out for blood (or at least their money back). You may even think you are being a "good guy" and telling them things they need to know, but if they hate your advice, whoopsie. Bunch of Christians on your lawn, burning devil effigies and waving placards.

IMO, there are easier ways to make a living.

I don't think that they need to be licensed, but perhaps they would need a business license if they tried to make some kind of a profit.

Secondly, I don't consider it a "real job", because I do not believe in psychics.

People that read Tarot cards over the phone are trained to do that. Most probably aren't born with any gift of seeing the future, but would know how to build trust with their clients to get them to call again and again.

There may be a license to get, but not a psychic license.

Wow, good let us know all the way you fairly think...do not keep again or something. *edit* I accept as true with what Lightning Elemental stated and additionally: True psychics aid persons....they do not have terrific powers, they only faucet right into a facet in their mind that lays dormant in plenty of persons. Some of them are open to conversation from Divine beings. I believe that that is so much wanted in our global and really so much, a truly activity. There is not anything lazy approximately it.
