what would you do soak the chewing tobacco for a while then spray it on with a hose end sprayer?

No. That will damage the lawn.

Try bug killer. From home depot. :) Works fine.

I've heard of tobacco being used as a bug killer -- but everyone says don't use them near plants in the nightshade family (tomatoes, eggplants, etc.) because tobacco leaf might have a disease that can affect them.

Oddly enough, tobacco is one of the most heavily sprayed crops in the world. If it worked really well, you'd think it wouldn't need insecticides . . . . Adaptation, ain't it grand?

This is only part of a recipe by the home lawn care guy, Jerry Baker. Get the book from the library or bookstore before you try the remedy.

soak about 48 hrs, then spray as you said. if you have cats or other animals it can kill them, tobacco is very toxic to many animals.

IT WOULD KILL THE BUGS BUT IT WOULD KILL THE GRASS AND GO THROUGH THE ROOTS AND KILL YOUR WHOLE YARD SO GO TO HOME DEPO AND GET SOME BUG REPELINT AND THAT STUFF WILL KILL BUGS AND HELP YOUR YARD GROW AND IF ITS SLUGS YOU WHANT TO KILL POUR SALT ALL OVER YOUR LAWN.

i dunno about a tobacco tea spray--never tried it. but I have tried spraying my plants with a mixture of borax, water & ivory dishsoap & it works awesome!!! some kinda bugs were eating my roses & trees-- sprayed them with that solution & it amazed me --killed all the bugs & the plants & trees recovered phenomenally

sure, and then all your grass will die too. Go to your local home and garden store and they will tell you what to use.
