How have they screwed up....Let me count the many, many, many...ways.
Anyone who says they have never had a bad experience or an order messed up at a restaurant either does not eat out much, or are extremely tolerant and a saint.

This is bound to happen once in a while. All humans make mistakes. How the problem is handled is the important thing. Once I ordered steak and eggs and the steak was over done. The waitress took it back. No problem. It seemed to take a long time and then she came back laughing so hard she could hardly talk. She said the cook was cooking it more! I finally got a fresh plate with a med. rare steak. I tipped her very well and have had a good story to tell.

its something that is bound to happen if you keep eating out the odds are like that, I believe you have to be understanding if the restaurant is super packed and calmly ask for your correct order, but if your like 1 out of 3 tables being served you may need to ask the server if she/he is new and if so give a break if not cut out a small part of the tip that's what I do but then again I normally tip 50% of the tab so when they don't know me I think they don't notice when I cut down on the tip,
BUT IT IS RARE THAT I GET BAD SERVICE ITS BEEN WITH NEW SERVERS BUT I'M UNDERSTANDING

I have lived in Florida for 8 years. I go to a restaurant once a week, sometimes more.
In 8 years, my order has not been right once.

I'm a server at a steakhouse (a nice one) Some ***** came in yesterday & OMG- she was so insulting it was beeeyond belief. "How can you screw up a chicken sandwich...it smells like poo" (yes, she actually said that- like are you 5 years old) Anyhow. I didnt screw up anything- but she certainly thought I did. I bought her dessert (fat cow) so she'll come back (like I want her to). Waitressing really isnt easy and FYI- the majority of cooks are pricks.

Too many times to count! Anywhere from McD's to a high end trattoria. My husband sends things back, but I just suck it up and still eat it.
