I am just wondering about something. If we, as cell phone users, are charged for the calls we make and the calls we receive, isn't that being billed twice for the same phone calls? I mean if I call my friend at 9 a.m. on Saturday, I will be billed for making that call and it will count against my minutes. She, as the receiver of that call, is billed for getting it and it's counted against HER minutes. Am I understanding that correctly and if so, what is the justification for that? It doesn't seem right. Thanks!

Welcome to corporate america. That's what I think when I think about text messages. It costs a cingular customer 0.15 to send a text, and costs the recipient 0.15 to recieve the same text.

It's called profit. They gotta make it somehow.

I just received a call today from this number on a US Cellular phone in Roanoke, Va. at 18:22 EDT. (2009-03-26). After pressing "2" to speak to a customer rep I was connected to "Jessica". The "lady" (I'm just being polite with that term) claimed that she was a rep for "Warranty Solutions" in Atlanta, Ga., a 3rd party warranty company. When inquiring about which vehicle I owned was about to have its warranty expire, she replied, 'Any vehicle between 19xx and 20xx". I forget the exact year. A couple of questions later (me to her), I asked for her last name. Her response was a curt, "I'm not giving you my last name sir, have a great day." *click* Fortunately, with my calling plan, I don't pay for incoming calls, but some prior posts have it right; the name of the game is to waste their time and I will be sure to be more creative next time.
