These were fthe places people stayed to go to the hot water mineral baths, that were supposed to be thearputic. The people mostly came on the train and the hotels would pick them up and take to hotels.My grandmother was born in one hotel her parents owned in 1900 and I don't know the name of the hotel.

Several places will have history for Marlin..here is one site...

Another would be the county page via www.usgenweb.com (click to Texas, then to the county).
As for being certain of the exact hotel, there are several places you can check- the library there is one. You can also search in the 1900 census records (grandma might not be included yet in the family, but you should be able to pinpoint dad and mom, and maybe older siblings).
Another place would be the deeds at the courthouse. Don't expect to get that online, unfortunately.
