I think it's made out of the same material as our finger nails. A combination of dead cells growing and growing.

They are formed of living tissue supplied by blood through a network of vessels covered with a soft smooth skin called VELVET. Eventually the tissue solidifies, the velvet is scraped off and the antlers become completely formed of mineralised dead matter.

They're made up of mostly calcium, just like all of the other bones in a Moose.

Uggh, no!! it relatively is poor that they kill animals just to appeal to close they're heads on the wall. a severe-high quality portray could look lots extra useful on my wall. BTW as for the astrological ingredient, i'm a maximum cancers.

it is a bone like substance. When fully grown, the velvet will fall off, leaving no means of sustenance for growth, leaving them to die and fall off
