I'm going to say Negative.
I say this because the message being sent is that a 'positive' opinion, is a minority on Answers. And a world where most peoples opinion of the future is Negative....is.....well, Negative.

Okaaayyy... let me edit.
"It makes me happy to hear you instead of gloom and doom."
One would surmise that gloom and doom is negative and the writer stated that "you having hope and a positive expectation for the future" makes them happy.
I would say:
A. The comment is realistic and on the positive side.
and...
B. Somebody's flirtin' with you.
Good luck... realistically. lol

Positive because they said it makes them happy that something positive was said instead of the usual negative answers.

On the surface it appears positive. However, the "like you" rubs me as being a detractor. If I had to put a percentage on the statement as-is, I'd say it's about 90% positive. If it weren't for "like you" it would rank a full 100%.

What happens if it makes them happy hoping you drop dead.
To them this is positive for whatever reason. For you I am sorry to say not so good.
It's all relative to the individual.

Positive. It's not a troll response either, so that's even more positive!

Positive thought.
It is implying that you are an optimistic person not pessimistic.
