Are the dems the modern day Judas Iscariot?

Judas betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. Now there are dems in congress who had to be bought to support the treasonist funding for the war with timetables and pork such as millions of dollars for spinich farmers. How much does it take to buy the modern day Judas's?

To X....When we are trying to deal with a fanaticle enemy who attacked us, yeah I do expect the politices to be put away for JUST ONE TIME and I do expect them to come up with funding minus the games!! Like it or not, and we are fighting the ones who planned the attack now in Iraq. Maybe you don't support the war and think it was a mistake to go in the first place, but NOW we are fighting the ones who attacked us, and as long as we have military in harms way YES I do expect the politices to be put aside! YOU like it because you love to see our president under attack and YOU would sacrifice our military or just about ANYTHING to SEE him attacked!That is disgusting to me.

I think dems are so confused by their quest for anything that is in opposition to conservatives and conservative values and ideals, they have made themselves mentally and spiritually ill and twisted. I feel sorry for and am repulsed by them at the same time.

Let me tell you something about pork kid. Pork is what politicians eat. And they eat lots of it. Both sides of the table.

First link I clicked on when searching for political pork. A little op-ed piece, but it contains that facts of that highway-bill pork fest.

You can dig deeper on that if you want. That bill had so much pork it the pig farmers cry.

And that was just ONE BILL.

Every single bill in congress, every last one contains riders and earmarks, last minute insertions and surreptitious edits. It's almost like a little game to see how much unrelated crap you can sneak into a bill before it heads out for approval.

That's why Clinton wanted theeeee line item veto power. He wanted to approve the parts of a bill that made sense while getting rid of th parts that didn't (such as excessive pork).

At the time though, th republicans weren't too happy having a th president rip out their pork so it went to th Supreme Court, which ruled the power unconstitutional.

So now when a bill coms through the president has to accept it as is or veto the whole thing and send it back.

Bet you wish you let that little line item veto thing stand now.

But anyway, back to the discussion. Saying the democrats put pork into this bill is like the pot calling the kettle black.

Treasonous funding and timetables? Treason? For questioning thee absurdity of this whole debacle? For seeing this mess for what it really is and what is has been all along?

Judas? Let's talk about Judas.

The president swears to uphold the Constitution and th Law when he takes office, right? That means rain, snow, sleet, or terrorist attack he/she is responsible for upholding that great document.

Now, if you were a true patriot of this country, you would hold the Constitution above all else. The Constitution is greater than congress and greater than the president.

So let's see how does this true patriot president stack up against this test.

Oh yes, that's right. He doesn't. All he needs to do now is claim something in the name of national security and suddenly that great document no longer holds any water.

What's that you say? He does to protect us? You, the true patriot that you are, are willing to sacrifice those freedoms laid down in the Constitution for "protection"?

Coward.

That's not freedom. That's how tyranny is born. By suspending the very thing that makes this country great in the name of some imaginary security against a threat that has less likely of a chance to kill you than a bolt of lightning, you've already surrendered.

Let me give you a very basic lesson in politics. Bush really wants to continue this war. Dems really want other things that has nothing to do with this war. Dems say to Bush we will give you funding for this war ( including withdrawal dates you'll have to meet), in exchange for pork and other legislation. Compromise.
What good would it do to just withdraw funding for the war ? If the Dems did that, that would be the ONLY thing they would accomplish. Nothing more. They are using Bush's desire to fight this war as a bargaining chip to get what they want.

As I read your question, you are saying that the dems should have voted against funding the war, that they were bought off to get them to vote FOR the funding ("Had to be bought to support the treasonist funding")? If that is your meaning, most of the answers make no sense to me.

Well, Bush also started said war partially for economic reasons, and Cheney's company Haliburton is making a huge profit off it as well. So I geuss the Judas title is already taken.
