This is a very vague yet poignant question. I do believe in love as a whole but there are many types of love. I love my mom and dad. This love has no boundries. No matter what may come I will always love them. This is an unconditional love.
I love my wife. However, the love a man has for a woman and vice wersa does have conditions. It is conditional upon the faithfulness each observes for the other. It is conditional upon the quality of life, by this I mean a woman would most certainly stop loving a man that constantly beat her.
I love my friends. The love of a friend is a wonderous thing. Yet friendships have been lost and love shattered when misunderstandings come. Misunderstandings will not destroy a love of husband and wife, nor the love a son has for his parents.
I love my God. However the love some folks have for God can have a very short lifespan. When things go wrong people want to blame God for the misfortunes they may have instead of praising Him for what he has allowed them to have. This is perhaps the hardest love to maintain since it is a love based on faith.
Finally there is the love a parent has for his child which goes beyond unconditional love. It is perhaps the strongest love and can withstand many hardships and many troubles. I thought I knew what love was since I love my parents. I thought I knew what love was when I married my first wife but that love failed. I thought I knew what love was until a simple misunderstanding became a stumbling stone between me and a very close friend. I thought I knew what love was when I committed my life to God but that love proved to be very easily lost when plaesures were lost and pains remained. Then ... I found out what love truly is.
There has never been a love as strong or as consuming as the love I felt the very second I heard my first born little boy cry for the first time when he was born. It was the music that filled my life. He has become my rock and my salvation. His sister and two brothers have become my very reason for living and my only reason to sacrifice my life to protect them. I thought I knew what love was, but I didn't. Then my son changed all the rules and covenants of love and we are bonded together forever. I thought I knew what love was but I didn't until the day I became a father. Now I truly understand love and I can honestly say ... YES, I do believe in love.

Absolutely and positively. I thought I knew what love was before, but that was just lust or being in love with the idea of love. But for the last almost 4 years, I have been growing closer and more in love than I ever thought possible. We act like lovesick teenagers (I'm in my 30s and he is in his 40s). We agree to disagree on some things, but complement each other on others. I can't imagine life without him, but I can imagine looking into his eyes 50 years from now when he's old and wrinkly with no teeth and can barely move by himself. Even then, he will be the love of my life. I don't "accept" him as he is, I admire all that he is. We respect each others' differences (which are many, as we are from different cultures and different languages). We are crazy for each other, and crazy in love. So yes, I do believe in love.
