I am a white 23 y/o and I moved out of the "black projects" a year or so ago {lived there my entire life}, my mom still lives there and she needs to get herself out too, like almost all that live there, white or black...
I think it just takes a little motivation and a lot of will power...I am in college, and it's a start, chances are if your in the projects you aren't making a whole lot of money so there will be assistance avalible {like what i get} if you apply to a community college {like me}, especially if you have a child {like me}...so that's no excuse...

Yes...it's not easy by any means--but many people grab those unique opportunities otherwise ignored by many in order to do for themselves. The only thing that will change the cycle is pressure and motivation from black people...every one else is just considered racist if they breathe a word.

I like how black people live in the projects. America needs poor people in order to survive. In order for others to be wealthy they need to profit off of the shortcomings of the poor. In other words the poor are exploited. Blacks are exploited. Blacks actually make it possible for the wealthy to have money. Who else will work for such low wages? Who else will purchase loads of tobacco and alcohol which is a huge taxable industry? Who else keeps the police, courts, and lawyers busy?

I say keep the blacks in the projects where they belong.

Education is key.The Urban community should have more scholarships available to the kids, and parents must emphasize that an education is important for a bright future.

i'm not sure you can do it as a people; i think working your way up in society is strictly an individual endeavor. But people can support each other, give them a hand when they're able and ask for help when they need.

But please don't restrict it to just
blacks like yourself, all of us in society need to treat each other better.
