Your baby should be fine, but your doctor would know better than anyone! Just stay sober, happy, eat well, stress-free (as you can being a college student), and listen to your doctor and things SHOULD be fine. There is no need for you to dwell on or worry about things you did before finding out, you'll just stress yourself out and that can hurt you and the baby.
Just talk to your doctor, be honest, most dr are pretty understanding and realize you care about the baby most of all!

Well, here is the answer that I was given when I talked with my doctor about it...
For the first month that you are pregnant it is merely your body preparing for the implantation of the embryo on the lining of your uterus. The egg, once fertilized still has to travel the remainder of the distance to the uterus and then attach itself to the lining itself.
Chances are that while in that first month your "baby" didn't get as much of the alcohol or drugs as you may think. HOWEVER, that being said you do have to understand that in the first month(s) of your baby's development the important things are developing -- the brain, the nervous system and the like.
So long as you stop drinking and doing all drugs from this point on -- well, there's no need to stress out over it. Now you know you are pregnant and now is when you need to start taking care of your child. Don't worry about what has happened, concentrate on what's happening as we speak.
And, just for reference, with both of my pregnancies I had drank heavily and a few other things before I found out I was pregnant. I have two perfect, advanced children.

There is a possiblity of Fetal Alchol SYndrom from even one glass of wine. However, I didn't find out I was pregnant untill 7 1/2 weeks, and also drank a lot and smoked a lot. But my One year old son is a very Healthy and happy baby, in the 75% range for abbies his age. If you're very worried, talk to you docotr about it, be honest even if you are worried he might judge you, your babies heal;th is more important. He can talk to you about tests and such. Good luck, Im sure everything will be fine though. But if you are very worried you might want to consider terminating the pregnancy and waiting until your ready and your body's in better shape. Unless your totally prolife christian type. But good luck either way! Im sure your doctor will be able to help you!

Really tough question. My Sister-in-law smoked, drank, and did some drugs in the first two months of her and her daughter was born with her intestines on the outside. However, They are both very healthy now. But I would talk to your doctor so he can run the proper tests to ensure that baby and mother are ok.

The only way to know for sure is to have the doctor test you and the baby.
I just have to say though, I think it's funny that you think it's OK to smoke pot because you are a college student. Last time I checked, it was illegal for everyone in the country no matter what their educational status. I'm actually not trying to be mean. I just think it's funny. Sorry.

I'm sorry, but there is no real answer. Sometimes a woman only has to drink once to cause damage and sometimes a woman can drink every week and not have any problems. Its important that you follow the doctors instructions, especially with nutrition to help prevent any potential problems.

You should be just fine especially if you have stopped and you stopped early. We breath in so many carcinogens that this is just as unhealthy for your baby too at this stage. You did right by stopping and you'll be fine and so will the baby. Ask your doctor if you are feeling bad and need reassurance.

I hope not. I can't think of a single woman that hasn't gotten wasted before they knew they were pregnant (myself included). Experts say the early stages are the most critical, but I'm sure your baby will be just fine...just think of all the women back in the day who got drunk up until the day they delivered!!
Congratulations by the way=)

Unknown. That is not predictable. Just don't worry. Do the best you can. There certainly was an affect, but how much cannot be determined at this time. I doubt it was enough for you to worry about. Whatever was done cannot be undone. Good luck and best wishes!
