I have a factory alarm system. I lost the keyring pad and now I can't start my car without it cutting off 5 sec later. How can I disable the system and use the spare key?

The pad is not connected to the key itself it is seperated. Is there a fuse for this or a on/off button?

I don't think the fuse will do it. What is the year and model of your vehicle? There are different types of security systems on different makes and models. (This is according to my DH who has been a mechanic for over 40 years.)

Check your owner's manuel. That should describe the procedure. There should be afuse in the fuse box labeled for the alarm.
