Odds are you're burning water/coolant.

Typically if an engine is releasing white smoke, it means you've got a leak in the head gasket between the area where water circulates to cool the engine and the combustion chamber.

Sounds like it's overheating or lack of lubrication. If it's a 2 cycle motor make sure there is proper* 2 cycle(TCW-3) oil mixed with the gas at the correct ratio (50/1)?(16ounces oil to 6 gals. gas is common).A bad water pump(impeller) could cause this condition as well.Is water pumping out the back or just steam? Do not run it again until repairs are made as you are risking permanent damage to the motor.
