i would too. if it wasnt for my dog, i wouldnt be alive. she saved me from depression. and that's the greatest thing anyone's ever given to me. the only way of repaying her for saving my life is sacrificing my life... shes actually sitting right next to me. chewing on my remote, snoring. but i still love her.

My parent's got divorced when I was really young and life was really difficult. I was poor and didn't feel I fit in at school. I found a little brown kitten mewing piteously and I brought him home.
My cat was the only reason I am still alive today. He was the only one who loved me for who I was and wanted nothing more than just to lay beside me. He'd be right next to me when I was studying late at night or alone at home (because my mum had to work two jobs).
He died last year after almost two decades. It was very difficult for me because he was with me from when I was an awkward kid to an adult who had my own home and a good job. It was almost as though he stayed around just to make sure I was going to be alright, then he left.
I feel he is my guardian angel. Many times in my childhood I felt his life was worth more than mine. However, now, I think Tiki (my cat) taught me how to be a better pet owner and he lives on through the love I show to the pets who come after him.
I have a son now and although I love my pets so much, I understand I can do more good alive than dead. We can only enjoy our pets and love them the best way we know how, while they are still with us.
I hope none of our pets outlive us (potential parrot owners think long and hard) because you can't really be sure what kind of life your pet will have without you.

As much as I love and have loved some of my pets. There is noway I would ever die for them.I would do everything in my power to save them, though I would not give my life to do so.I have way to many people who depend upon me to foolishly allow my life to be cut short to save a pet.The pet is not going to nor would it be capable of caring for my family In anyway close or even remotely resemble how I do.The responsibility's,obligations and commitments I have to my family is far above any animal.Even if my death was the only means of preventing a species from becoming extincted I still would not turn my life over for theirs.I would say I am sorry but that would be a lie.I am not trying to be disrespectful to animals. The common sense of it all says my life is more important then theirs. Not because I don't love my animals but rather because I love my family much more.Telling my 4 year old sorry daddy died but look we still have Fido just doesn't seem to be ummmmm whats the word copacetic. For those of you who feel the existence of your pet is more important then yourself, more power to you.As for myself I don't

i just want to say, my dog , ransom, saved my life! I would die for him as he would for me, he is a dachshund, ten years old and very loyal. about 6 years ago my daughter died and i thought my world had ended, i literally contemplated suicide. had it not been for my dog i wouldn't be here right now. i can never repay him for helping me through such an awful time . but i show him i love him every day and i hope he knows just how much i appreciate him and love him. they are very loyal and tend to stick with just one person and not the

I dare any fireman to keep me out of a burning building if my pets were inside. They'd have to shoot me. I rather die than live knowing I didn't try to save them.

I risked my life for a wild MOUSE -- no way I'd do less for my own beloved pets!!

I think humans owe it to their loved ones not to do stupid things like drive 90miles/hour on back roads and rush into burning buildings for a cat or dog.

Yes I would die for my babies. They are my family. and you bet they would die for me without blinking an eye. They Love me As Much, if not more Than I Love them. Animals are the GREATEST.. All Animals.

i would die for my horse, and/or my dog. i love both sooo much. and they both comfort me when i'm sad and play with me when i'm happy. stoney, my horse, will let me put my arms around his neck and cry into his neck for hours. i know, it's happened before. no one else can do that to him. whether they're crying, sobing, or just trying to hug him. they can't. eri, my dog, will let me sob onto her as well, she licks up my tears when i've stopped. they both know how to cheer me up, too. plus my horse has saved me from my mom's screeming-at-me (she doesn't do anything except screem and ground me) LOADS of times. so no, you're not the only one. :)
