they acted like they came up with your idea? Why would anyone do this?

It's called being a "emotional vampire"... they're just insecure and jelous that you are bright enough to conceptualize something that they are wholly incapable (due to their lack of intellegence and imagination). Personally, if I come up with a good idea, I keep it to myself until I can implement it; no other bloodsucker can claim credit for it that idea... it works!!!

that happens to me all the time because i'm shy and reserved. when i tell my friends my ideas, they tell everyone else and they get the credit for it. it's quite annoying, but as long as i know it was my idea originally, i'm cool with it.

i don't think anyone does it intentionally...but, i don't know, maybe they want to gain social recognition or something. beats me.
