All too often baby bunnies are mistakenly identified as females only to find out later that the "two girls" you bought are having babies! Experienced breeders can usually tell the difference but it is possible for them to be wrong as well. Always recheck!
I am always amused at pet stores who pick up a rabbit and look under it in mid air and proclaim the bunny to be a girl!
You must gently push back the vent opening to expose the genitalia.
A slit close to the anal opening indicates a girl and a circle that pops up is a boy.
But you must push back on the appendage far enough or they all look like girls!
After the males reach sexual maturity it is much easier to tell. The testicles descend at 4 to 6 months.

1Step One
Wear a long-sleeved shirt. Rabbit's nails are sharp, and rabbits may scratch when they are excited or upset.
2Step Two
Place one hand loosely on the rabbit's neck and upper shoulder area.
3Step Three
Place the other hand under the rabbit and rotate it into the crook of your arm.
4Step Four
Hold the rabbit's head slightly lower than its body.
5StepFive
Use forefinger and middle finger to press down the vent area. The vent area is just in front of the anus. A doe will have a slit running up and down. A buck will have a pinkish tube with a pointed end.

Check out this website. It has pictured that make it a lot easier to show you how to do it. I recommend looking at the picture examples for the oldest rabbits though so you can see the difference a little better.

When a rabbit is very young, take it to either an experienced breeder, or a vet. But when it gets a little older, pretty much, if it's a boy, it has testicles. You can't miss them! Male rabbits that get older, and haven't been neutered, get VERY tempermental. That's another sign. But the best guarentee would be taking it to the vet.

You have to sex the rabbit. This is done by gently pushing on the fur in the genital area. You should be able to see boy parts and if not you will see girl parts. This can be done at any age but it is really hard on babies. Its much easier to do when the bunny is 3-6 months old.
Hope that this helps
