If it's any indication of my patriotism... I am a veteran of the United States Army. I was Military Police Customs in Germany for 3 years. I support the USO and the DAV.
I also take full advantage of my right to vote. This is a God given right to be able to have a voice when it comes to my life and environment. I wish the choice was not so hard to make (because most if not all politicians are crooks) but I make it.
I fly my flag proudly and I will come to the defense of my country in a New York second. I do service to my community through donating time and money and I am loyal to the right cause.
I am proud of my participation in being patriotic. I am American and always will be. No shame in that. I celebrate the lives of the Black American Veterans every December and keep up with what is going on militarily.
One last thing... The events of 911 broke my heart and made me cry. You see I know it's ok to be patriotic and still have a heart. I empathize with the way the world is today but I know only the strong and dedicated can change it.

I am totally patriotic. Unlike many of today's unfortunate youth, I received an excellent education as a child that included extensive amounts of American History. Sadly, most young people only learn about the negative things that occurred in America. These are also taught out of context and as if no other country on earth had similar or worse problems.

There is so much good and so much to be proud of in this country. Sad that so many don't understand that.

But one thing remains true, people who live in tyranny certainly know the value and greatness of that beautiful country where a person is free to pursue happiness. Free to exercise their religion. A place where one can speak out and not be dragged away in the middle of the night never to be heard from again.

Yes, I am a patriot. I am a patriot because I appreciate what we have here. Other are not patriots because they don't.

And what is the most ironic in your question is your reference to the National Anthem. Ours is unique in the world. It even ends in a question: O say, does that star spangled banner yet wave o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? It isn't asking if the flag is still waiving. It is asking if this is still the land of the free and if this is still the home of the brave.

We should keep asking ourselves that question.

Very!

We are not always right and our government is often very wrong but we elect them and are free to criticize them.

Wow... historically, people get killed for criticizing their government.

Read about Joseph Stalin ... then read Thomas Jefferson and see who and where you are lucky to be. Slowly the stupid brutality that w/mankind brings on itself, each other... becomes civilized understanding .... probably take a few hundred more years!

Yours truly;
Jonnie

PS, Just read your latest entry ... If you don't like it here ... leave. Go away, to wherever you want. Bye!

I believe myself to be quite patriotic because I frimly believe in the Constitution and the values the United States was founded upon. I do not like what it has become, but I support what it was meant to stand for.

The best place to live! I can't stand it when someone bad mouths my mother land. We have our problems and are far from being perfect, but no one, NO ONE is better that the USA!!!

Oh beautiful, for spacious skys, and amber waves of grain
Her purple mountain's majesty above the fruited plains
America, America, God shed his light on thee,
And crown thy good, with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!!

Love it or leave it

Truthfully, I say I hate my country, but if it ever came to being attacked and defending the country, I'd enlist to fight without a second thought.
