Okay it is against the law for children to ride on someones lap but a dog is just as hazardous as being on someones lap because it could get in their view of driving and cause a wreck like it happened to my fiance today

Yeah, I think that dogs should be off the drivers seat if not 'belted' in for the drivers safety and their own. There's been so many times when I see a person with a LAP full of little darlings hanging out of the window or up on the dash. I agree, it's just not safe for anyone!!

UGH...No! Do you really need to ask??? Dont be an idiot and grow up a bit. Driving is a responsibility. He will likely hit something, crash, hurt or maybe even kill you all and someone else. No one deserves to die, lose a body part simply because you chose to be immature. Sit in the back, read a book, text, put some music on and keep QUIET while he drives. the more noise and distraction you make especially on a long tiring trip..the worse it can be for a driver.

i am not saying if i think its safe or not because it depends on the person and the dog. but you cant compare that to children the reason kids cant sit on your lap is not for the drivers view its for the safety of your kids no matter how good you drive you could wreck and they are not safe in your lap. they need seat belts......

I love animals as much as the next person, but yes, I do think that is a dangerous thing. I think it's extremely dangerous for the animal. Think what would happen if your poor little Yorkie got hit by an airbag.

yes it should be..but its kind of like the warning on the hair dryer dont use while in the bathtub..i would think anyone that has a drivers license would know a twenty pound fur ball with a waggin tail on their lap isnt a good idea while doing 65 down the freeway

Oh and the dogs safety is in danger. I see dogs riding in the drivers lap all the time. I really don't see much excuse for it.

Yes, when I take my cat to the park I have her in the pet carrier and strap in the carrier with the seat belt for safety. That would be dangerous to have a pet in your lap while driving.

Absolutely. As well as eating, putting on make-up, shaving(I've seen it), reading (I've seen that too), and talking on 'cell phones. Anything and everything that can distract the driver from doing what they are supposed to be doing is hazardous to the driver and everyone around them.
