A gas boycott has been scheduled for May 15......do not purchase gas on this day. Fill up you cars and such several days prior to May 15, but do not buy flood teh gas stations the day before the boycott...or else the boycott is not worth it. Lets show the oil companies who are still making record profits since hurricane katrina and barrels of crude is $10.00 cheaper now than it was last year at this time....and here we are payin $3.00 a gallon......lets finally take more than 3 billion dollars out of their pocket.

I do agree ...windy...but ppl will absoutly not stop spending. Teh shopping malls are full here every day, and weekend....and until people wake up and see that they are going to have to stop bying all together...and the economy drops, due to high gas prices....nothing will never be done long term....but this is a place to start....remember this was done in 1997 and gas dropped...what ppl have to remember is that you cannot buy gas and flood the gas stations 2 days prior and 2 days after.....this can turn into a 5 day boycott...and yes it will send a message....other wise is floods the market with gas....and wall street does not like that.

this idea is so ridiculous. The real plan would be not to drive for a while, you know, ride your bike instead of drive a mile to the store to pick up your prescriptions, go to class, etc...

I heard one figure that said oil companies would loose 3 billion if people didn't buy gas on that day. Too bad that's not true at all, no matter what kind of ridiculous fuzzy math logic you use. The reason is that PEOPLE WILL STILL BE DRIVING, which means they will be using JUST AS MUCH GAS. So that means that even if the gas company doesn't make a single sale on that day, they'll make even more sales the day before and the day after because people still need gas.

This idea is so stupid, I just can't believe anyone would think it would ever work. Why would it work? People still need gas. Do I have to say that again? People will still be using gas! The United States uses more oil per capita than basically any other country, and gasoline is cheaper here than basically any other industrialized country. So why is everyone complaining so much? If you take into consideration inflation, and how much money the average american is making compared to how much they've made in the past, we really are not paying that much. Look this stuff up, it's all over the place. Anyoen who has done a real scientific study can see that.

Stop whining and think of another alternative. Ride your bike. Buy a hybrid car. Are you going to tell the oil companies "enough is enough" when we run out of oil completely? There is not an unlimited supply of oil, and gasoline is NOT THAT EXPENSIVE!! Yeah, it sucks to have to pay 3.00 a gallon, but you're not going to change that by not buying gas on one day. It's such a stupid plan, it would never work... I've gotten so many emails about this and it's driving me nuts.

No, I will not participate. In fact, I'm going to fill up my car on 5/15/07, and I'm going to encourage all my friends to fill up THEIR cars on 5/15/07 as well.

I cannot believe so many people fall for that ridiculous email! Do you really think if you buy it on one day instead of another, it will have any impact???

Change your habits and use less gasoline everyday! Encourage everyone you know to do the same. This will bring the price down in 3 weeks. If you buy your gas on the 14th and not on the 15th, but make no changes in how much you use for a longer period of time, you have done nothing to affect the oil companies.

Just like any other business in America, big or small, more demand leads to more sales and larger profits.

SUPPLY AND DEMAND.

We, you and I, have more control over the gas price than anything else. And President Bush has no magic gas wand.

Unfortunately, if we stock up before the day we boycott, it won't even make a blip on Exxon/Mobile's profit graph.

Gasoline is obviously over priced as evidenced by the outrageous oil company profits. People talk their pedantic rhetoric about how the price is so complex, a commodity based on futures and so forth - but I have to say, when a company gouges Americans as badly as big oil has since Katrina, you don't have to be a Harvard graduate to smell a rat - a greedy rat, at that.

The boycott is stupid, there's no differance if I fill up in the present day day after today, or while each time, with the aid of fact ultimately i want gas to bypass to paintings, p.c.. up little ones, etc. it somewhat is referred to as existence, left wing nuts. supply and insist, the Oil businesses are gonna get our money ultimately, so it makes no differance which day you fill. All you people asserting i will fill up in the present day or the sixteenth what's the differance? maximum folk do no longer want gas prevalent, maximum fill up as quickly as each week or two times relies upon on your activity and what's occurring. in case you Nuts intend to make a differance than set the occasion, journey your motorbike to paintings, use the T-practice in case you have one on your city, placed wind farms on the coast of Cape Cod the place I stay, to enhance potential on our section and much less on oil and gas however the great HYPROCITES LIKE TED KENNEDY, JOHN KERRY AND Liberal friends do no longer want that, permit's stop people like Al Gore flying on deepest Jets. I propose we are able to do alot plenty extra and a at some point gas out is stupid. The Oil businesses gets you eventually it somewhat is referred to as supply and insist.

the windy is right. changing our driving habits is the right way to go. instead of driving your Hummer to the coffee shop, ride your bicycle. buy your fuel from the Mom & Pop type vendors and boycott the mainstream retailers like Exxon/Mobile etc.
Happy Motoring. when I am in Idaho, I look for Holidays, or Hyco. one radio station I listen to advised motorists to buy from the Mom & Pop retailers.

Dear I haven't bought any gas for over a year now, I own a building up town and walk where ever I need to go now. You can't even imagine how much money I have saved with this change, it's astronomical.
