If there is a whole universe, and earth is only one small planet...it leads one to wonder what else is out there.

Of course!!
Granted, I don't know about extra terrestrials, but illegal immigrants are aliens. The definition of the word is "a foreigner."
Personally, I do beleive in extra terrestrials. Not abductions though. If I were a space alien, Earth would be the last place I'd want to be.

Yes - just ask the INS.

There are many who have and still believe that there is life off this planet. Then there are some that also believe that some of that extra-terrestrial life is also intelligent (like we are).

Recently we found some chemical compounds on Mars that might be the result of living organism - if so it's probably some very simple life form such as bacteria or algae.

Nobody has proven there is intelligent life other than here on Earth - yet. Radio astronomers have been "listening" for alien radio transmissions for 40 years - and heard nothing so far. "Stay tuned."

Carl Sagan and others have written on this subject, and based on some assumptions they conclude that the odds are actually pretty good there is intelligent life out there. But the assumptions can be WAY off and we would not know.

A fascinating speculative subject for discussion and debate, that will not be solved until we find some aliens.

Many religious views are that we are alone in this galaxy and this universe. however, looking at how the ppl were way back when it wouldve been tuff for the big guy to explain it to them. look at all the trouble around the guy that went and proved the earth was round. It stands to reason that the big guy wouldnt create this huge universe with trillions of stars and planets for just to make the nite sky pretty. scientist nowadays are kinda one sided in thinking that life must have the stuff found on earth. our definition of life in reality only applies to carbon based humans. is there life on other planets it safe to say yes they may like us but maybe not. we broadcast 24/7 this thing called seta; the problem with that is to some alien spieces that may hear it. it may just be noise to some other spieces

Probably. We know that there are a lot of stars and systems and planets out there, but we have only seen the tiniest fraction of the universe. They're probably very far away, and may wonder the same thing.

Are there such things - we don't know.
Could there be - certainly, most scientists believe that there is some kind of life out there.
But when most people say "aliens" they mean intelligent life, and we may never find that kind of life. Not that it may not exist, but its probably more rare than just life in general.
We may not even be able to recognize life when we find it, or we may only find things like bacteria, microbes, or other simple life.

The evidence for them visiting Earth is not totally convincing. There are 10 trillion billion stars and our star seems to be ordinary. From that I would think there must be countless trillions of kinds of Aliens.

well it depends on opinion if you beleive there are other life forms well some people might think your crazy and some might say yes there are aliens it is very possible to have other life forms on another planet. me of course would say yes there probably are aliens because some scientists believe that they saw a u.f.o but no i doubt they fly in little spaceships.

I was going to answer your question, but I had to wash my hands after eating some human spare ribs. They will do well on my home planet.
