I think you mean how old do you have to be to start your own newspaper COLUMN. Your writing skills need to be improved on first.

This is sincere advice. I'm not trying to discourage you.

I think you mean column, not article. Does your high school have a newspaper? Perhaps consider next year offering yourself as an advice columnist, but remember there's responsibility in that. You have to have a lot of ' expert' knowledge at your finger tips and I don't mean your friends. You have to have the right resources to go to if you get a question you can't answer and possibly neither could your parents.

As for writing articles contact your local newspaper, either a daily or a weekly and offer to write a column about hs happenings. Or suggest that the paper start a youth editorial board who works with the editor, if she or he has time and learns about column writing and how a newspaper works.

You can always submit letters to the editor if you're interested in some issue. Generally they're 350-500 typewritten words and no more and you usually have to sign your real name , give your full mailing address and your phone number and email.

Good luck.

I'm female and no guy has ever been in love with me like that. That's ok- I'm learning to accept that. (Actually my boyfriend said he loved me. He said that many times. My friend even read all the text msgs he sent to me and she commented "ur lucky- i never had a boyfriend write msgs to me like that" But one day- he suddenly dumped me for no reason. He said "My parents won't let me have any relationship right now. I don't want a girlfriend right now and I want to concentrate on my studies." (He's 14) I asked "not even if she's the prettiest in the world?" He said "the prettiest in the world? I might want her then." This means he'd want the prettiest ***** but NOT me. I was hurt and angry. (I still am) I hate him and I hate stuck-up slutty girls. Many people think these sluts are "pretty") My advice to other girls: Be careful if a guy says "I love you." He might not be sincere when saying this. He might be using you......
