With all honesty, I would have to say no because true or "real" happiness is not a chore & neither it feels that way & I think mostly because real happiness comes from within & is spontaneous and so not a burden. Happiness becomes a chore only when we force ourselves to feel it or force it to come out & I think it almost holds true for any human emotions because they're meant to be spontaneous and so should be felt & dealt in that way. And I think in life almost anything can feel like a chore when it's forced & so is happiness so I guess it mostly depends on how we approach this....

Like anything else it's a matter of conditioning. Being happy is a conscious decision. I think it's also genetic. Ever see a an entire family of miserable bastards? Then you have the sunshine family. I strive to be content - it makes me happy.

Sometimes it does, but misery is a lot more draining. If you try to look at the positive, it makes life much more tolerable.
