Of course not. It is true that Reagan was a great man and was rated by most as perhaps the best President in our era. He set in motion the demise of Communism, as we all remember his words, "Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" And put military might and the full force of American Capitalism to the test to break the back of this virulent form of govt. He also provided the basis for Reagan Conservatism, where the goal was to bring down the size of govt, while giving the people back their hard earned wages via tax cuts. It is true that this was only partially successful, due to the fact that the Democrats controlled congress at the time, but the tax cuts he made propelled the US to an unrivalled era of prosperity during the 80's.
Liberals hated the Reagan era because it so completely dispelled any notion that Socialism was functional, and that the best way to deal with dictatorships is to embrace their way of thinking. This is also the reason many glorify Reagan himself, although it was mostly Ronald Reagan's true and unabashed love for our nation that made him beloved by the American people.
I do agree that many try to put on the Reagan name but truly none are worthy of wearing it. We may never see his kind again in our lifetime.

Uh, do you remember Jimmy Carter? How is it that Democrats have amnesia when it comes to the period of 1976-1980? Reagan had his faults (every man does), but good lord, was he not a welcome relief from the absolute misery of the Carter years? 22% interest home loans, gas lines. Neutering of the military?

Say what you want about Reagan, but he lead this country through one of the biggest periods of prosperity it has ever known and rekindled our sense of strength. I'd place a vote for a dead Ronald Reagan long before I'd vote for Hillary. Even witha dead President Reagan, the Iranians would be scared of us.

My point was that Reagan was the right man for the right time. And as far as how many Dems are trying to emulate Carter, well, that'd be ALL of them! "Run away, run away!" from Iraq, just because it got hard. EVERYONE thought that invading Iraq was the right thing to do, including Hillary and John F. Kerry. Every one of them voted to authorize force (with the exception of Obama, who was still in high school. Come on, is he really a viable candidate???).

And given the choice of whom I'd follow into harms way, Jesus Christ of Ronald Reagan, I'd be behind Reagan without hesitation. While Jesus was turning the other cheek, Reagan would be kicking it!

----even more, because you can't stomach the truth----

Sure, Nixon was at the helm when 'Nam ended, but it was the crippling policies of both Kennedy and Johnson that got us to where we were. Kennedy was a pretty boy who botched almost every foreign policy issue that he touched, it still amazes me that he's seen by you Libs as the best president of the 20th century. He was young and attractive, boinked movie stars, and got killed in office. That's pretty much it... he defined incompetence and nepotism. Unpopular to say that, I know, because he reached room temperature in Dallas in '63. But get over it.

I don't know much about you (but I'd guess you are a self-important liberal educator in your 30's, driving a Subaru or Volvo wearing Che Guevara shirts and fake eyeglasses just for effect) but you should probably do some reading. Something other than listening to Air America and watching Michael Moore movies. Anytime you need me to tell you how wrong and misguided you are, just ask! I know liberals hate dissent, and don't think that anyone is entitled to an opinion or independent thought, but I'm here for you.

Reagan was an ACTOR for crying out loud! He didn't have the brain power to be president, therefore his administration was filled with scandal and corruption.

And, the espouser of traditional family values and those who slavishly held on to every word he said, forgot that he was married, with children, to Jane Wyman while he was carrying on a torrid adulterous affair with the ever loveable Nancy and divorce Jane to marry her.

Well, considering both Democrats and Republicans liked him and he has been voted the most loved President you might want to educate yourself on politics. I would say you must have bumped your head and don't know what the heck your taking about

While yes you are in fact correct that Reagan was one of the best Presidents this country has ever known. I have to disagree with you on the Jesus thing. Reagan was simply a man, he was a great man, but simply a man non the less. Jesus is son of God and therefore he is our Lord and Savior.
