No, it's generally not a good idea to touch them any more than would be absolutely necessary ( as in practically never). Fish have a protective slime coat on their bodies that rubs off rather easily and without it they become far more susceptible to many diseases.

I have had Black Mollies come and nibble at my hands when cleaning the tank but I don't think it is a good idea to pet your fish. Fish have a protective slime coating that will get removed if you pet them. This will make the fish more susceptible to disease.

If you can't pet fish are they still "pets"?
Seriously I don't think its a good idea and most fish will not let you pet them anyway. I have seen pics of people feeding goldfish and loaches out of their hand though.

I'd think it's not a good idea to do, but I used to pet mine. He was very soft... and died from a tumor at only 2 years old. It was a Betta.

No.Because that could give the fish dieses and your body tempature hurts them it is to hot to pet them.

no. Human hands have bacteria and other sickness(oils, ink, etc.) to fishes. But if you have clean gloves its okay.
