Riding mower or walk-behind self-propelled?

Question

Advice as to which to use for a flat, gradual sloped 1.25 acre lot with only a handful of small trees?

That would depend on how much of a slope personally I have used both a self propelled which if the ground was flat and I mowed often then it work fine however it took a bit of time on anything over an acre if you let your grass get to high a self propelled has a harder time getting though so I guess my experience says

Self propelled over a acre that’s a little longer and a little tougher in high grass but workable and mower cost less.

Riding mower faster on ground over an acre easier to get though high grass but cost more then self propelled

If you want a real nice finish cut and want to cut down the time it take's buy a John Deere Zero Turn rider mower. You will be amazed at the job this machine does. I have used all kinds od mowers walk behind,rider and far as brands Dixie Chopper,Wheel Horse,Scag,Toro,Bob Cat, none of work as good as the JD.

have to ask yourself if you want to cut a 1.25 acre yard with a push mower in the middle of the summer if you don't mind by all means use a push mower that can be your workout that day

For that much use a Riding mower.. You will spend all day and half the night with a push type

that will take you about 1 to 1.5 hours to mow with a small walk behind mower about 22" If you dont mind walking, if you dont want to walk that much they do make them a little bigger. for you 36" would be perfect and allot faster than using a 48' riding tractor !

Keep one thing in mind if it gets really hot where you live it's not good to walk that much in it. Consider your age if your young not as much of a problem.
I'm OLD and I have 2 acre and use a rider.

Ask how much exercise you need? I prefer walk behind self propelled.
