The strange periods may just be the way your body works, but you should definitely make a point to start getting regular gyno visits, because when that tissue just sits in there for longer periods of time, it opens up opportunites for cancer in ways that a regular month-to-month flow doesn't. So you should be fine, you just need to keep yourself updated.
Oh, plus, if you want to close that window of opportunity, you could consider going on birth control, as that WILL keep you on a clear cut schedule, and allow your body to clean out regularly, and it really for some reason makes you feel better to have that regular, even if it's annoying. You feel much more in control of your body.

Has it been this way from the start? Many different things can affect your menses, including the things you eat. Best advice though, would be to go to the gyno if you haven't already and talk to them about it. They should be able to answer any questions you have and give you lots of information so you know what is normal and what is not. Also, if you didn't, you probably should have started seeing a gyno when you first started your period. they like to start seeing girls around that age about once a year or so so they can keep an eye on things. Anyway, hope this helps. At least you didn't spend your first few years having it for at least two weeks at a time with a week or two in between like I did. I think I should have bought stock in the Always company. Now I hardly have mine at all. Every one is different, and there really is no such thing as a "regular" period. Only what is normal for your body. Good Luck.

Go to see a doctor. Irregular periods can be just your systems "regular" or something more serious. Many times, this can be treated with birth control pills to regular the cycke, but you need to be sure nothing serious is going on.

Best wishes

This is extremely rare for humans. You have a mating season. In your case, your mating season lasts for 5 months of the year.

Talk to your family doctor about the situation.
