we hav e been married 19 years and she has paid into fica much more than i have. i qualify for 1200 a month why cant i get a higher benefit based on her earning history. i am 41 and was told not until i am 65

NO. Payment is based your pay only and the numbers of quarters that you worked. The only way that will be considered is if she is collection social security herself and then dies, then you would be surviving spouse.

social security disability income is based on your income,not hers.that's why.visit ss.gov
