Chi Guy .... I don't think you hate the US ...I actualy think you truly want what is best... I just strongly disagree with your views...and I think if we follow your ideas the world and civilization will end as we know it...to be replaced with a Taliban form of governance.

I love this country, it is the politicans who eat away at it like a cancer. They are spending this country down the river.

The two are quite separate.

As for Clinton, I never hated the guy. I thought he raised BS-ing to an art form. Billy was a boy in a Man's job. He will go down as the luckiest President of all time (how many times can you have a high-tech/Internet boom that generates unprecedented tax receipts for a government obsessed with spending). He happened to be on his surfboard when the perfect wave came by. All he had to do was not fall off the board. Smart guy, great speaker, poor President. Don't let the polls fool you. What do the majority of the American people know? Anyone with any life experience knows it is not very much.

This is like a question which turns up in Religion and Spirituality. Some people claim God picked Bush to be president and that we should have more respect for him.

The usual answer goes along the line of, then God must have picked Clinton for president before Bush. How many Religious "Right" people felt free to criticize Clinton?

The approval/disapproval % has stayed roughly the same.
Let's look at the situation then, and now:
Just after impeachment proceedings against Clinton, he still had a surprising 70+% approval rating.
Bush now has a 30% approval rating.
We have to accept that give or take a couple of % points, 30% of Americans are incorrigible idiots, then and now.
The ignorant inhabitants of 'Hannity's America', where they all sing from a one-page hymn book, and Fox News is on 24/7.
And Global Warming is a Liberal plot.

Honestly? He wasn't friendly to their financial and war mongering interests.

Clinton spent too much time fixing the mistakes of the last President--growing the economy--and making the wealthy pay taxes, that the *only* thing they could harp on was how he got a BJ, and how he wouldn't finish the war that Bush I started in Iraq.

Plus, they still believe that Clinton didn't do anything on the war against terrorism. (Before it was known as such now.)

I don't fall into the premise of your question (equating detesting Bush to hating the US)....

and I sure didn't hate the US myself when Clinton was president....

and I d@mn sure was embarrassed about having a president who said things under oath like "that depends on what the definition of is is".....and wagged his finger in a camera protesting so forcefully "I did not have sexual relations with THAT woman".

But I loved America then, now, and always.

Because socialism was fully exposed under the Clinton era. The public education system is built around these exact sinister socialistic philosophies. When Bush became president many thought that true conservatism(old fashioned liberalism in my case) was going to help wipe out socialism once and for all. However the decption of Bush posing as a true conservative was in reality just smoke and mirrors. Thats why what you call "NEO CONS" were so drawn to him because his undertone was that of socialism(i.e control of the masses or modern liberalism if you prefer). We conservatives(the real ones) got duped and lied to hard core.

You do know what i meant by being fully exposed under the Clinton era correct? Everybody thought it was this wonderful thing not realizing for one second what it truly was they were experiencing, or how much faster it sped up the process of bringing socialism upon us completely. When it's too good to be true, it probably is. We see now along with the current administrations "policies" that we are most definitely about to lose what freedoms we do have somewhat left completely. You don't want that. But the ideal of "Democracy" is itself a very socialistic form of policy, not government nor LAW, policy.

I have never heard any "neo-con" equate hating Bush to hating America. I have heard and seen liberals blatantly attacking "Amerikkka", so please don't pretend that liberals are innocent victims of mean old conservatives.

In 2002, Bill Clinton had an approval rating of over 70% - that really doesn't leave a whole lot of people from either side of the isle "hating the U.S."
You can do better than this one, ChiGuy.
Never in my memory (including the Nixon debacle) have I ever seen such spiteful rhetoric directed at a sitting president.
And in a time of war.....it's disgraceful.

neo-cons have always hated the U.S.....long before Clinton

neo-cons defend scum like RayGun and President Crackhead because they spend their presidencies dismantling the safety net, the middle class, the Constitution and everything else that makes our country great

I did not dislike Clinton very much, until he got caught painting spots on that girls dress. He was somewhat of a buffoon, but likeable up to that point, then when he lied, under oath, well, that was just too much. Then i started really looking at the things he was into and had been involved in previously, and the more I read and learned, the more i grew to despise him. But, I also served in the military while he was commander in chief, and I faithfully (blindly to a liberal) carried out every order passed down the chain of command. I didn't go online and post nasty messages about him. I didn't try to humiliate him in public forums. I find it to be UNAMERICAN to undermine a standing president, and subhuman to humiliate a former president. And I especially did not hate my own country while Clinton was president.
So, your liberal twisting of logic will not work on me.
