What band has done more for music, Metallica or Hoobastank?

ok, without Metallica, rock would not be where it is today. Metallica is a legend. some of the band that you listen to wouldent even be here if it wasent for Metallica because lots of bands are inspired by them. dont get me wrong, i like Hoobastank, ive seen em twice, once w/ Linkin Park and again w/ Nickelback, but Metallica is way better. Hoobastank has not done much for the music industry.

WOW!!! i can't believe the question you asked. obviously you have never heard anything from metallica. i feel insulted at this question. metallica only spearheaded metal during the early eighties which influenced much of the bands that are playing on radio today. they are more than just a band, they are icons that will forever have influenced and affected the music scene. hoobastank is a band that hasn't even made a significant mark in their music genre. ask any popular band today what their favorite songs of all time are, and i guarantee they will all mention at least one metallica song. i very much doubt marilyn mason or slayer would say that they like hoobastank.

neither, if you removed either from the large field of music, you would find no ripples in the pond of sound. neither group where innovators, break through artist, or creators of a genre of music. They may be a popular group, and even peoples favorites , but to suggest either did much of anything for music cannot be said. Here are some big groups in music that changed the way people listened,performed, or formed new categories of music, the Beatles, Jimi Hendricks, Duke Ellington, Chuck Berry,U2,Bill Haley and his comets,Hank Williams, the Byrds, Buddy hollie, Led Zeppelin. whether you like there music or not, they changed and effected the music field in big ways, even crossed over to influence others who did not normally like a form of music. Then there are extremely popular groups who, never did much to shape the music field. such as the four seasons, Kiss, Garth Brooks, Aerosmith, the rolling stones, and possibly your two groups mentioned, they maybe great groups to listen to, but there effect on the music world is minimal. the rolling Stones have been around for over 40 yrs, and they still play rock, blues and pop mix songs. excellent group, but little effect on the doing anything for music.

Metallica by far. They don't suck. They are more heavy metal than you think. Have you evr been to one of their concerts? If not well then until you have been and have been apart of all the moshing and you music you can't say a word about them. And apparently you haven't listened to For Whom The Bell Tolls or Enter Sandman or Sad But True. Listen to their old stuff. It's really good.

Mitallica are you kidding? they have been around for a much longer time than hoobastank. they made metal fun and not so scary. im sure eve hoobastank looks up to them b/c most people in rock do.
