The same reason that you don't see anyone sleep for 6 hours. Anything that doesn't advance the plot isn't necessary.

Risk Management,
Dumb and Dumber
are two movies where you see people going in the washroom. There are some others too. On The Spy Who Shagged me series, the big man in the kilt kept on talking about it. Also some TV shows had washroom scenes, like the Seinfeld show competition for a few squares of paper, and Mr. Bean show where Mr. Bean was trying to get his pants back. Seems like comedy movies use those scenes.

Most other movies are better without washroom scenes.

Well, I haven't seen every movie, so there may be at least one movie where a character goes to the bathroom. Actually, there is one movie I can think of like that: "Lethal Weapon 2". Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover) is sitting on the toilet because the roll of bathroom tissue has been wired to blow.

Why would you want to see someone in a movie going to the bathroom, anyway?

What would be the point of that?

Movies are escapism, I don't think the daily rituals of life are exciting enough for the big screen unless it is for humor. Such as in Bruce Almight when the dog was on the toilet or Meet the Fockers had a few humorous bathroom scenes.

joahn Travolta goes to the bathroom in P{ulp Fiction, some dude goes to the bathroom in Waiting that's two off the top of my head.

Maybe they will start making movies of just people going to the bathroom for guys like you.

Then they could have movies where people sit around a watch tv. Or eat Froot Loops. Or pick their nose.

Maybe you could make the first one.

I always wondered that too. It would be more realistic. It's like how in movies, they never have people cough or sneeze unless it's foreshadowing the character getting sick. A character can't just sneeze because of a little nosetickle? It has to mean they're going to get a cold?

You do in Charlie's Angels Full Throttle, and in Hollow Man. Interestingly enough, I'm working on a screenplay right now where one of the pivotal scenes takes place in a bathroom.
