It could be any number of psychological problems - depression, bipolar disorder, or borderline personality disorder - or the person does not have very good social skills, or the person cannot make up his/her mind. But it is probably no psychological problem at all. Not everyone has a lot of fiends and the person may have inappropriate expectations of life or other people's behavior. It really isn't necessary to be "popular" and for some in is an unnecessary burden. All a person really needs is one or two good friends and those friends will accept a person for who they are, even if they are a loner. Some people are just loners and there is nothing wrong with that as long as you can accept yourself for who you are. I guess what I am saying is, being a loner isn't a problem as long as a person doesn't see it as a problem. Loners can live very productive lives and some very creative and successful people considered themselves loners.

I call it "cowardice of the mind". No Pain in trying means No Gain... in emotional growth. You have to acknowledge people as they are. Not as you would like them to be or you perceive they are! You must commit to ACTION to resolve your behavior. "Take a chance on life" my friend Pete use to say" it might hurt, enlighten, or make you happy. But you won't know until you "Take a chance on life".
