Somehow I don't think you have the background to write such a book. You can do research on a lot of things, but that doesn't give you experience. That is the most important thing in starting or running a small business.

If you have the experience, then write about that. The path from initial thoughts, planning, busuness plan, financing and so on.

I think they would be interested in all kinds of topics. Taxes, employee training and retention, PR and marketing immediately come to mind. And how about conflict resolution and perhaps networking and partnering? Considering materinty and deployment issues and also fitness and health insurance issues. Scheduling is a big issue that some small biz owners overlook. Not just personell but also training, equipment checks, fire drills, sales, inventory, taking advantage of holidays (months in advance) instead of working around them - anything!

A section on new technology is almost a given. Feeds, onsite defibrillators (AEDs), electronic translators...

Management techniques, employee reviews and raises, benefit packages...will they offer any or not. Interviewing and the credentials people need to apply become employees.
Business techniques and etiquette. Stress factors of managers and employess and how to deal with this. Structure of the company...personal manager, manager, how many employees..an important thing that needs to be determined when starting a new business. Company mission is one very important part of each business and should be posted at the business. Qualifications of the busienssmen and goals they want to accomplish with their company. Credentials they have. Are they being realistic. Where do these business ideas come from? Where will business capital come from?
