No. You don't calculate the multiple choice and the essay to get the overall score. All you do is add the critical reading portion to the math portion to the writing portion.

your essay score in considered part of writing, so you had to consider that, but there is a formula that you need to have to calculate the essay raw score. The formula should be in any sat book. YOu don't count the multiple choice.

reading + math + writing = 1260

They don't use multiple choice or essay as part of calculation
