following someone elses map or your own, through life?

For all of my life, I have been following the map that my parents has made for me. I'm only now realizing that it is not what I want to follow. I'm currently trying to figure out exactly what it is I want. Once I do that, I hope I'm strong enough to follow my own map instead of my parents'.

I made my own map many years ago. I'm still following it. And will until God calls me home.

Life is a compromise --a little of theirs, a little of mine. I would have missed some of life's most wonderful suprises if I had only followed my own map.

Mostly my own, but occasionally someone else has an interesting destination I'd like to check out.

I follow my own but if any family member needs help I'll do a detour and then get back on track.
