I think if we built giant fans near tornado prone areas we can stop them. We can blow them away from populated areas

tornados are a result of cold air from the north moving south colliding with warm air from the gulf moving north. this combination of warm and cold air results in thunderstorms along the squall line, which is the point where the two air masses meet. tornados form in relatively the same places always because of the way the jet stream moves air masses across our continent. storms mature as they move along and they reach maturity over the midwest and sometimes the northeast. you can't just blow a tornado away. the airmasses that spawn these storms and tornados cover over 1000 miles typically. they are part of nature and it is part of life. you don't like tornados and severe weather? live in the northwest. that is where storms are the weakest because they are just beginning to develop as they reach land.

We can't prevent tornadoes because we can't suck clouds out of the sky. That would be awesome though. A tornado is started from a storm cell. We can't blow them away because it would just suck the fans up from the amount of force given off by it. sorry

It won't work! All attempts, so far, to control any part of the weather have been unsuccessful. It is bigger than all of us.

Your idea with the fans has been tried at least half a dozen times. No success.

I don't think you appreciate the power of even a low-class tornado. Big fans wouldn't even be noticed.

Because that's like asking why can't we change the whole system of weather itself! If you were larger than the earth, then you could just put your finger in there to disrupt the spin. But you can't change nature.
