take off the gas cap, pull the fuel line off by the motor, let the gas run out for a while.

I had a 1989 88 royale with the 3800, and i had to bleed the pressure off and on the top of the engine should be front side of engine on the fuel rail there is a black cap, unscrew it and there is a schrader valve (like a valve stem on tire) take a screwdriver and CAREFULLY press down until it bleeds off.. but be careful!

Have you not changed the oil yet? The car will only run for about 5 seconds. Also, I'm not too sure about the intake gasket diagnosis. Sounds like you are washing down a cylinder from a leaking injector. The intake gasket, leaking, could leak coolant into the oil, not gas. I would have it checked by a REAL MECHANIC, NOT A PARTS SELLER!
Good luck

Just take the fuse out and undo the fuel inlet pipe clamp carefully. They say to start the car to relieve the pressure but you can do it by letting the pressure out through the inlet pipe connection, as long as you're careful and let it out slowly. They advise the motor starting method to prevent injury to you.

There's something that looks like a tire valve on the gas line in the engine compartment. You can pack a thick cotton rag around it and bleed off the pressure there.
