I have my own answer for this question, I just wanted other views.

What is lemon cheese steak? I just made this name up on spite. I guess it goes well with my chef hat.

Too help our minds evolve, the concept of having multiple universes allows us to think and imagine beyond our natural scope, which in the end.......shows that the human mind is capable of endless possibilities............

We'd probably still be living on a flat Earth and there would be no bunnies that lay Cadbury Eggs. Are you watching the grill for the lemon cheese steak burger fillets? I'm hungry!

I like 'Philosophy 101's' answer.

The puzzling things activate our minds and curiosity, motivating us to figure them out and apply what we find to living successfully in our environment. After all, we humans are pretty weak compared to animals, which have fur to keep them warm and symbiotic relationships with bacteria that keep them healthy out in the open jungle etc.

The "why" part is a deep philosophical question. Since we have minds though, there must be something to use them for other than day-dreaming...hence the things that lie beyond our physical reach, out in space....maybe.

If there weren't there wouldn't be any life. And if there weren't any life the Earth is useless. So don't take it personally, buddy. After all, there are mysteries that are not meant to be solved. If there weren't any life you wouldn't get a chance to ask this question. Hope this helps!

Earth is just a tiny part of the Universe.

Because when everything was created, everything we see, planets, stars, gasses, and dust, and everything we do not see, dark energy and dark matter, filled all that void.

If there was no matter, there would be nothing around us. Including NO sun! And we would not be here.
